UTD OIT Launches AWS Ready Comets (ARC) Program

Empowering Students with Cloud Computing Skills

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is thrilled to announce the launch of the first-ever AWS Ready Comets (ARC) Program for the Spring 2025 semester. This initiative aims to empower students with valuable cloud computing skills and industry-recognized certifications, helping them become cloud-ready and capable of empowering their peers. As an ARC associate, students will gain hands-on experience with AWS technologies, prepare for AWS certifications through Coursera, complete capstone projects, and build a professional network with AWS experts and industry professionals. Program Benefits and Eligibility

The ARC Program offers numerous benefits, including up to $50 in AWS credits, Coursera certificates, exclusive invitations to AWS-related events and workshops, mentorship from OIT professionals and AWS experts, and access to official AWS training materials and labs. The program is open to all UTD students, regardless of major or academic level, with no prior cloud computing experience required. Participants should be prepared to commit an average of 5-7 hours per week for the entire Spring 2025 semester.

How to Apply and Important Dates

Interested students should submit their applications. Applications open on Dec 16, 2024, and the application deadline is January 5, 2025.  The program is set to start on January 21, 2025, with a graduation ceremony in the last week of April or the first week of May.
