The Office of Information Technology is thrilled to announce that our Networking and Telecommunications Team has received the prestigious CIO 100 Award for their Campus Networking Building Refresh Project!
This highly acclaimed award is only given to 100 organizations who successfully implemented innovative IT initiatives that significantly enhanced business processes and customer relationships.
The Networking and Telecommunications Team worked tirelessly to refresh the networking equipment across the 50 UTD main campus and satellite buildings. This upgrade increased network capacity, reduced active switch port counts by 65%, and improved network uptime by 27%. With the additional capacity and feature upgrades made to the system, UTD will continue to meet the growing demands of being a Tier 1 research institution.
