The Help Desk team is available to assist students, staff, and faculty with a wide variety of technology issues and requests. Atlas Service Catalog
Our Atlas Service Catalog is a web-based user interface that faculty, students, and staff can use to submit technology help requests, report outages, request a service.
To access the Atlas Service Catalog:
- Open the Service Catalog
- Select the category & service you are looking for
- Log in with your UT Dallas NetID and password
- Click “Get Help” or “Request Service”
- Complete all requested fields and submit your request. You will receive email confirmation of your request, including your Atlas ticket number.

Galaxy & eLearning
- The Galaxy Portal is the starting point for working in Orion (including Student Center, Applicant Center, and Faculty Center), PeopleSoft HR (HCM), and PeopleSoft Financials (FMS).
- Access eLearning to view web content for courses (Note: eLearning access is only available to those enrolled in active classes at UT Dallas).
CometNet (Wi-Fi) & VPN
- CometNet is available on the UT Dallas campus and buildings off-campus operated by UT Dallas.
- eduroam is available on the UT Dallas campus and can be used by UT Dallas users on most other higher-education campuses around the world.
- The VPN service is available to students, faculty, and staff to access resources only available on the UT Dallas network.
Software
- Office 365 is available to install Microsoft Office on up to 5 devices and to use collaboration tools from Microsoft online.
- Adobe Creative Cloud is available to UT Dallas faculty and staff.

Atlas User Guide
Atlas is a web-based user interface that faculty, students, and staff can use to submit technology help requests, report outages, request a service through our service catalog and access an extensive knowledge base.
- Navigate to atlas.utdallas.edu
- Enter your NetID and Password
You will see the main search field for the Knowledge Base categories in the middle and helpful links near the top of the webpage.
Service Catalog
- Select the Service Catalog
- Select the category you are looking for
- Select Request this Service (if applicable)
Help Requests
- Select Get Help
- Select the applicable scope
- Enter detailed specifics of the issue or assistance needed
- Select Submit
Setting Up UTD Email on Mobile
Email Setup on iOS
- Tap the Settings app, then Accounts and Passwords, then Add Account, then Microsoft Exchange
- Complete the account information fields using the info below and tap Next
- Email: Enter Your NetID@utdallas.edu email address
- Password: Enter your NetID and Password
- Description: Enter “Office 365”
- Enter your full UTD email address in the Username field and tap Next
- Note: Server information: outlook.office365.com
- Enable all categories to sync Office 365 data and Save
Email Setup on Android Devices
- Navigate to Settings, select Accounts then select + Add account, then select Microsoft Exchange
- Enter in your NetID@utdallas.edu email address then select > then enter in your NetID and Password
- Enter the Account Information fields using the information below then select >
- Server: outlook.office365.com
- Port: 443
- Security Type: SSL/TLS
- Select OK for Remote Security Administration
- Select your preferences for the Account options
- Enter “Office 365” for the Email account then select >
Outlook Webmail
You can access your Outlook mailbox online by visiting webmail.utdallas.edu and logging in with your NeetID and password.
NetID
Your NetID is a network account, used to access computing resources. Use your NetID and Password to access the UT Dallas network, check your @utdallas.edu email, and access other UTD systems. information can be found at utdallas.edu/oit/howto/netid-vs-utd-id.
Campus Wi-Fi
Mac OSX
- Select the Wi-Fi icon in the Menu Bar
- Select Open Network Preferences
- Select Wi-Fi
- Select CometNet from the list of wireless network
- Enter your NetID and Password
- Mode: Automatic
- In the Verify Certificate panel, select Continue
- You are now connected to CometNet
Windows 10
- Navigate to the Windows icon on the lower-left corner
- Select Settings
- Select the Network and Internet category icon
- Select Wi-Fi
- Select CometNet
- Check the box to Connect Automatically
- Select Connect
- Enter your NetID and Password
- Select OK
- You are now connected to CometNet
eduroam
- Extends the power of your NetID to access Wi-Fi at participating institutions of higher education.
- Use our wireless internet via the “eduroam” network name to authenticate on networks at participating institutions using your NetID and Password.

Faculty and Staff Resources
The Office of Information Technology provides a variety of services and supports a wide range of hardware and software. Below are the minimum supported specifications by OIT.
- Apple: OS X 10.11.06 or newer
- Windows: Windows 10
- Apple iOS: iOS 10 or newer

Software Resources
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Office 365 is a cloud-based, integrated suite of collaboration solutions that includes Office and many other tools. Office 365 at UT Dallas is protected by NetIDplus powered by Duo.
With Office 365, students, faculty, and staff can install the latest version of Microsoft Office on up to 5 personally-owned PCs or Macs. They can also access Microsoft Office apps available for iOS and Android devices.

Adobe Creative Cloud
To Request Adobe Software
- Navigate to atlas.utdallas.edu. You will be redirected to UT Dallas’ single sign-on service (SSO).
- Enter your NetID and Password
- Navigate to the Service Catalog
- Select Applications, Software, and Galaxy Services
- Select Software for Personal Install
- Select Adobe Creative Cloud license
- Allow the pop-up window to run
- You will see a Registration Successful page
To Install Adobe Creative Cloud
- Navigate to adobe.com
- Select Sign In (on the top right corner of the page)
- Sign In with your NetID@utdallas.edu email address
- You will be directed to the UT Dallas SSO service
- Enter Your NetID and Password
- Select Login
- Select Desktop Downloads
- Select the Applications necessary, download and proceed
- Open the Installer/s and proceed
