Using Remote Desktop (Chrome OS)

Purpose 

This article contains instructions on how to connect to a UTD computer that has been setup for Remote Desktop access, from a Chrome OS device.

Connect to Your Office Computer

Off Campus Requirements 

If you are off campus, you will need to connect to the VPN before connecting remotely to your computer.

• Sign up for Duo, if you have not already.
• Connect to the VPN.

On Campus Requirements 

If you are on campus and have a wired connection or connected to CometNet, you will not need to connect to the VPN.

Chrome OS

• Go to Play Store and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client.

• Open the new app and click on the Plus sign icon (+) in the upper right hand corner, then select Desktop. 
• Enter IP Address of the machine you would like to connect to.
• Open newly created connect and enter credentials using domain (i.e.: campus\abc123456).
