The Office of Information Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas provides leadership, integrative management and shapes the University’s technology and services roadmap with a focus on collaboration and communication.

OIT is a crucial partner in enabling the UTD strategic vision behind it’s four pillars, which include being the cyber infrastructure catalyst for accelerating research, leveraging digital transformation to reduce administrative burden and boosting decision making, providing a rewarding and valuable student experience and fortifying the IT service foundation.

The Marketing, Communications & Engagement team helps share important stories about these strategic pillars to both internal and external audiences; shining a light on the latest advancements in technology and the end roads being made in the UTD community.

MCE works collaboratively with the Office of Communications and various other departments to help highlight the incredible leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni and supporters that bring the missions of UTD and OIT to life. We oversee communications, marketing, graphic design, web presence, social media, photo/video, outreach, engagement, media relations and external relations.

The OIT Engagement team serves as the liaison between OIT and UTD client groups and helps to identify opportunities where technology can assist. We serve as a conduit between client needs and IT delivery for change, integration and optimization of services by bringing forward client needs, helping to define stakeholders, and presenting potential opportunities from the UTD client perspective. We can also serve to facilitate projects for UTD client IT projects and assist by analyzing current processes to look for improvement.

Marketing, Communications & Website

The Marketing & Communications team manages the OIT website maintenance and development, all print collateral and digital design, digital signage, two newsletters, drafts department and campus-wide communications, and is responsible for safeguarding the UTD brand standards. In addition, we take photographs of our events and manage two internal committees.

OIT Communications uses two primary email channels, OIT Notify and OIT Outreach.

OIT Notify OIT Notify is used for outages, interruptions of service, and to provide updates associated with each.
OIT Outreach OIT Outreach is used for improved services, new services, updates on what’s happening in OIT, and more.

The Outreach team is responsible for the event planning and management of the Lunch-n-Learns, OIT Forum, Supercomputing conference and the Innovation and Technology Summit. In addition, the OIT social media presence is managed by the Outreach team.
